Tom Led Economic Development Officials on Expedition to Moose Jaw!

Business Retention and Expansion International is the professional association for officials and practitioners concerned with local economic development.

They met in Regina, Canada for their 2007 conference, and a new theme for the event was using creativity and culture for local economic development.

I organized and facilitated two activities for the conference. I took 22 people on an all-day expedition to Moose Jaw, a small city in Saskatchewan that has achieved remarkable success by using culture and a creative approach for economic development. This Moose Jaw Expedition visited seven attractions and learned first-hand from stake-holders how success was achieved. I also presented a workshop on using creativity and culture for economic development. Details and downloads are on the "My Experience" page.
